CORE Construction Our "core" was founded over 67 years ago with the values of integrity, honesty, fairness, innovation and a dedication to personal growth of our employees. As a young man, Otto Baum left his native Germany and sought a new life in central Illinois. Although he was trained in masonry as a teen in his homeland, he worked for a local farmer to fulfill the agreement that paid his way to America. With the help and support of his devoted wife, Mary, Otto eventually set out to build a reputation for himself as a bricklayer. Hard work, dedication and a strong Christian faith brought him through the Depression and led him to start his own masonry contracting company in Morton, Illinois, in 1937.

As Otto's four sons entered into the business, the company expanded their services into most areas in the construction industry. With opportunities for expansion, the management teams, including key associates broadened the scope of the company beyond Illinois by establishing additional office locations in Arizona, Florida, Texas, and Nevada.

Today, CORE Construction is a third-generation, multi-dimensional construction company offering a wide range of construction services, including design/build and construction management delivery methods. Club LeConte's Board of Govenors acts as an advisory board keeping the club in touch with the wants, needs and desires of the membership at large. The board is comprised of Knoxville's premier business men and women.

At the direction of the Board of Governors, special emphasis has been placed on those elements which constitute the essence of a fine private club: the opportunity to build business and social relationships; the tradition of personalized service and fine cuisine; scrupulous attention to detail; an opportunity for family entertainment and community involvement; and those privileges and amenities which enhance the quality and enjoyment of life.

The Club has committed itself to providing the finest dining experience and most impeccable service. The chef has created a menu of gourmet selections that highlights regional specialties, producing an inspired variety of American and Continental cuisine. Club LeConte is open for breakfast, lunch, evening cocktails, and dinner and offers attention to detail for special events. A soup or salad buffet is served in the Tennessee dining room Monday through Friday, as well as the more formal option of a la carte service. Chisholm's Lounge is always available for a more casual setting.
